Jim Bright will be writing a new weekly column in the Sydney Morning Herald MyCareer section called the Ladder. The column will consider contemporary career issues facing individuals, as well as taking a critical and sometimes mythbusting look at fads and current beliefs in the area of careers.

Jim has worked in the media regularly over the last 10 years. He was the regular career and employment expert on ABC radio in Sydney between 2000 - 2005. He was the resident career guru on Channel 10's Kickstart careers in 2005. In 2006 he presented the careers segments on Channel 10's Home and Lifestyle. Between 2005 and 2006 he appeared on Radio 2 with Mikey Robbins and Ian Rogerson talking careers. He also has appeared on the Today show, Business Breakfast, and most radio stations in Australia and the BBC in the UK. His research on careers has been featured on Life Matters twice (career decision making and chaos theory of careers) and also on the AM show (stress).

He has been interviewed literally 100s of times for publications as varied as the London Evening Standard, The Australian, The Age, The Sydney Morning Herald, Australian Financial Review, Vogue, She Magazine, Brisbane Courier Mail, 9 to 5 and CNN. His books have been reviewed (positively!) in the London Financial Times, The Guardian, Sydney Morning Herald, and in academic journals including the APA review of books.
